Regional Lions Leadership Institute

BUILDING LEADERSHIP – District 50 is sponsoring this Leos/Lions Leadership Institute to build personal leadership skills, make new lifelong friends, and be reenergized. You will be provided with a positive environment for learning, networking, and can share your goals, ideas, projects and even your frustrations. This institute is for those who want to serve at the Club and District level, who want to grow in Lionism and as an individual. Upon completion, you will learn to get the most out of yourself and those you serve with.

Participant Qualifications

  1. Candidates are limited to Leos (5) and Lions (20) who have never attended a leadership institute and are in good standing with the Club and District. Due to cost considerations, the number of neighbor island Lions is limited to eight candidates.
  2. Candidates must commit to pre assignments, the two-and-a-half-day Institute and group mealtime activities. Attendance at all classroom sessions and scheduled activities is mandatory.

Cost of the Institute – Lion registration fee is $125 and Leo registration fee is $50, which is often club subsidized.  What is included:

  1. Meals: Coffee and pastries each day; lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday.
  2. Neighbor Island Candidates: (a round-trip air fare not to exceed $200. Air reservations must be completed by December 8, 2025 or the candidate may be replaced by the next qualified alternate.

Please report if you have any food allergy or are visually/hearing impaired (for classroom seating).  Hotel accommodation on a shared room basis for Saturday and Sunday nights.  Ground transportation during the institute.

Application Procedure and Deadline – All candidates must complete the attached Application and Candidates History. All completed documents and the registration fee made payable to District 50 Hawaii must be postmarked no later than January 15, 2026. There will be  no refunds or cancellations after February 2, 2026.

Selection Process – 
Acceptance into the Institute is not guaranteed as there are only 25 slots available. To have as many clubs represented as possible, participation will be limited to 2 candidates per club. If there are any openings after the application deadline, additional members of a club may be added. If not selected, a refund of the registration fee will be sent to the applicant. All applications and the selection process will be handled with strict confidentiality.
