Korean War Memorial to be dedicated Saturday, 6/22 in Hilo
Our Akaka Falls Lions Club proudly shares with all of you Lion leaders the long-awaited Korean War Memorial Project stalled for years until our Lion Veterans Hiro Shima, Bob Lovin, Don Coloma, the late Glen “Shige” Shigehara undertook this project; and with the full complement of our members and key community partners, championed this project to a speedy completion.
Seems like a great way to end a great Lions year and an auspicious start to an exciting one!

Ala Moana Hotel
Ala Moana Hotel

Aloha! May is just around the corner and so is our 83rd District 50 Lions Convention. The Ala Moana Hotel will once again welcome the Lions of Hawaii, as we gather in fellowship to conduct the affairs of the District and elect our new leaders.
The convention will start off with a outing on Thursday morning, May 2, 2019, at the Navy-Marine Golf Course for our golfing Lions, and end with our Distinguished Guests (DG) Banquet on Saturday evening, May 4.
In between we will have a busy, but fun agenda highlighted by the Keynote Speakers Luncheon and Fun Night on Friday, and the Awards Luncheon and DG Banquet on Saturday. Our convention service project will be a cleanup of Magic Island in Ala Moana Beach Park on Friday, May 2nd.
Gather together with your fellow Lions in celebration of another great year of service to our communities and helping our friends and neighbors. Come and welcome our international guests, International Director Don and Lion Betty Nolan, of St. Peters, Missouri. We have much to ROAR and be proud of!
We ask you to sign up and register early, so that we can properly process you and your club for a great convention. For our neighbor island Lions, please make sure to use our link to the Ala Moana hotel to make your hotel reservations, to ensure your special rates.
